This Moment

Gaming hostility

Why do people have to be so hateful? When I am on Xbox I experience this a lot, especially between US and UK kids.  It doesn't start with the British kids as some would suspect, it starts with the Americans. Ever since my friend from school, Jess, left Xbox because of account malfunctions, I have been hanging out with some British kids.  Surprisingly, they don't even think of me as an American anymore!  I guess this is good because they don't like America that much.

When you get into one of the 'hate' lobbies there is a lot of cussing and screaming, usually nothing good comes out of it. So, you can guess how it feels to be an American yelling at your fellow countrymen to defend your friends.  Recently, I just started to ignore the other people in the lobby so I wouldn't have to hear everything said. This isn't the only form of hostility shown, usually everyone hates on the little kids because they just want to talk smack about how good they are, or were, until we just murder them on the game.  Then they just start again and they start yelling about how it was a fluke with them going 0-20. Then the yelling starts again.

I'm not saying I haven't done this, I'm not perfect.  This is something I definitely don't approve of and would like to see it stop.  As a teenager, I just wonder why something  like on line gaming has become such a place of hostility.  When something has been invented to give us the opportunity to game with people all over the world, don't you think everyone should try to get along just a little better?  Would really like your opinion here.

Friends Through Gaming Websites. Good or Bad Idea??

RuneScape logoImage via Wikipedia

Playing a game online is pretty fun no doubt, but along with that is the friends or crazy stalker people, you know, that 50 year old pervert.  What do you do when those 'friends' want to be in your life through Facebook or Myspace?
This situation happened to me the other night. I was playing an online game called 'Runescape' and this young lady known as True_Tash, in the game, wanted me to add her on Facebook.   I did. After thinking more about it I though "You know what this isn't right to intertwine my personal and gaming lives together". This has happened to me before with another player. I added her and soon took her off my friends list.

Then another question pops up: Is this any different than adding friends from Xbox to your Facebook? I think there is a difference, because on the Xbox side you actually get to hear the other person's voice, whereas when playing internet games, you only see what they type. So, I guess I'll figure this out with God's help and with yours also. I would love to know your thoughts on this and any other advise you might have to give about this matter. So, should we leave our personal life and gaming life apart even though they are very close?

How Tiger Time came to be.

Well, it all started after I met a few British kids on Xbox Live playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops, it was a few days after I met some of there other friend that they started calling me Tiger, short for Whitetiger. It really came into effect when Louie started saying, whenever I entered the party, "Its Tiger Time!" and then started singing 'Its Tiger, Tiger gonna get down with Tiger.' His remix to Rebecca Black's "Friday", I think. It was hilarious and it stuck, and now its is becoming a blog.
